We
arrange wonderful and convenient excursions from Phuket to some nearby
popular islands. Some of the interesting islands are described below:
Coral Island (Koh He)
Only half an hour off the shore of Chalong pier
is the Coral Island, one of the most popular destinations for one-day
tour from Phuket. The island is nice for swimming, snorkeling and scuba
diving all year round because not only is the weather always warm, bt
the island is not much affected by the monsoon. You can also enjoy
sunbathing and delicious seafood.
Small islets around Phuket
Koh Dok Mai, Koh Lone, Koh Racha, Koh Kaeo
Phitsadan etc. are enchanting for their fantastic underwater world ,
good snorkeling, diving and fishing.
Si-Re Islet
Cut from the main island by a small canal and
located 4 km east of Phuket City is the oldest home for sea people in
Phuket.
Nakha Island
Located at Po Bay 25 km north of Phuket City
and offering unspoiled natural beauty with a famous large cultured pearl
farm on it.
Phi Phi Islands
This
is one of the worlds most beautiful tourist destinations and a part of
Krabi province. 1.20 hours by modern ferry or 2.30 hours by conventional
boat from Phuket ports. It is composed of 2 rocky, tree-covered islets.
One is Phi Phi Don where several long white powdery beaches attract
visitors here to sunbath and swim. The other islet is the rocky Phi Phi
Le where thousands of swifts nest inside the Viking Cave. This Cave
indicate that vikings from Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Iceland already
discovered this island hundreds of years ago.
Phang-Nga Bay
Because of its fascinating seascape and its
short distance (75 km by road or 3 hours by boat) from Phuket, Phang-Nga
Bay is a must for tourists of Phuket. The bay is attractive for its
numerous weird limestone outcrops and cliffed islets rising steeply from
the sea. Also see the James Bond Island, known from the movie
" The Man With The Golden Gun" starring Roger Moore.
Similan Islands
The national-park-on-sea in Phang-Nga is the
world's famous diving destination due to its uncontaminated water and
abundant marine life and coral colonies. It can be reached in about 10
hours by boat from Phuket or 4 hours from Thap Lamu Port or Takua Pa in
Phang-Nga.
